A thing to remember here is that these posts are strictly meant for the particular planet position. Like, today we are looking at Rahu in Scorpio, so the description given here may change for you if your Rahu is although in the sign of Scorpio but with conjunction with or aspected by other planets. --
Rahu represents illusion, foreign lands, foreign things (foreign as in unknown things. So, for someone living in Punjab, culture and rituals of Kerala is also unknown and hence Foreign), Drugs, Medicines, any type of intoxication, fame, wealth, success, obsession, past-life left-over karma, movies, television, online world, cheating, imagined fears, unusual things, unique things, creativity, rule breaker. Rahu also blows things out of proportions.
Scorpio is the 8th sign of zodiac belt, hence it represents the things and energy related with 8th house of horoscope like Sudden Events, Secrecy, Dark World, Occult Science, Research, Inheritance, Serving Others, Taxes etc. Besides these things sign of Scorpio also represent transformation, means changing the whole nature upside down. Now with Scorpio, scary things start in Astrology. This is one sign which is favorite of every Astrologer, because it has maximum secrets, so every astrologer gets maximum scope of researching. This is sign about which no one can tell with precision that what will happen to the planets in it, as it is sign of secrecy itself. Scorpio is one sign where no planet is happy. Scorpio is also one of those unique signs which has 2 rulers, i.e. Mars and Ketu. Scorpio is the sign which shows our Karmic Debt in this world. Scorpio consists of next set of 2 and half nakshatras, i.e. Vishakha, Anuradha and Jyeshtha.
One thing we have to remember with posts related with Rahu through Signs is that Rahu converts himself as the lord of the sign it is sitting in and then amplifies quality of lord. Like, when Rahu is in Scorpio, Rahu will take all the qualities of Mars (Lord of Scorpio) and then will amplify those qualities out of limit. Rahu also does same to the planet it is sitting with. Like, if Rahu is with Saturn then it will take all the qualities of Saturn and blow them out of proportion during Rahu MD or Saturn MD. It is always better to have Rahu alone in a house rather than conjunct with a planet. Another thing with Rahu is that recently I have come across of the view that Rahu and Ketu don't have aspects on 5th or 9th house, for the simple reason that they are shadow planets and for aspects you need a sight not shadow. I am yet to verify it on at least 50 charts, so for now I will continue with traditional approach of 5th and 9th aspects of Rahu. Ideal placement for Rahu is to sit with an exalted planet, then it takes all the qualities of the exalted planet and amplifies them.
So when Rahu comes into Scorpio, it is considered by some as its debilitation point for the simple reason that Rahu represents desires for material wealth & comforts and the sign of Scorpio is anything but material wealth. It is the sign of Occult, Mysticism and Transformations. That's why Rahu's basic nature doesn't find good environment in Scorpio. This is the primary reason why Rahu is considered as Debilitated in Scorpio, though it is not unanimous opinion among Astrologers.
Now if Rahu is in Scorpio then it doesn't mean it is not working at all. Now, it will work in a different way. Rahu will remain the obsessive energy & hunger for more and will find it fulfilled through Mysticism and Occult. If this person goes through Rahu MD, then it will be the most transformative time of his life as Scorpio is sign of Transformation and Rahu only knows to explode it out of proportion. So, these people in Rahu MD may go through biggest of changes. It depends most of the time on Mars & Ketu position as lords of Scorpio as to how Rahu will operate. These people get tremendous interest in Occult and Research. They can become the best mystics possible on earth. They will have interest in all the occult and mystical subjects like Astrology, Numerology, Palmistry etc and they can be equally perfect at all of them. So, basically, this placement is all about mysticism. There are two ways to look at the results of all these acts. Some people say that all these acts are paying them money in the end, hence they are doing it. I feel that money is the most natural outcome of any work. You do any work in this world and you will get money. There is no work in the world which doesn't pay you back. So, I feel that the basic fact that they are dedicating themselves to a higher cause is meaningful and most important. Money is an outcome which is bound to come.
Again, impact of Rahu's effect in Scorpio will be controlled by the various nakshatra Rahu might be in. Like, if Rahu is in Vishakha nakshatra, then we need to check Jupiter's position as Jupiter is lord of Vishakha. If Rahu is in Anuradha nakshatra, then Saturn will impact Rahu's result. If Rahu is in Jyeshtha nakshatra, then it is impacted by Jyeshtha's lord Mercury.
Last but not the least, as I said we have to look at position and conditions both lords of Scorpio, i.e. Mars and Ketu, to finally come to know what is going on with this Rahu here. So, overall reading is much more necessary than a particular planet in sign position.
