Introvert & Extrovert Use of Astrology

Spiritually speaking, we can broadly segregate people in two categories; i.e. Introvert Vs Extrovert. It means that either a person can be introvert and seek truth within or a person can be extrovert and seek truth outside.

This distinction applies in our normal mundane life too where an extrovert can be the person who is projecting things and events of his life outwards or to people at large whereas an introvert can be the person who is reflecting back within himself regarding any event of his life.

For example – If I have any disagreement with someone and I start projecting his mistakes in disagreement then I am an extrovert but if I reflect back within to understand my mistake and what can I learn from this incident then I am introvert?

As I see, extroversion is misuse of time and energy whereas introversion can be useful in person’s own evolution. It is because if I project my attention to others and their mistake then no matter how genuinely or honestly I do that but the fact of the matter remains that I cannot change the way the other person behaves, acts or reacts. I have no control over his free will. If at all I can change someone’s actions then it is my own actions. If at all I can have control over someone then it is on my own free will.

Hence, it is misuse of our time and energy when we try to tell someone that how wrong he is in a particular matter or event because obviously that person will try to defend himself and his own actions. Better use of time and energy would be if we reflect back within and ask ourselves as to what we can learn from that particular event and what changes we can bring in our own actions or behavior?

We can also say that projecting on others (extroversion) can be a way of Devolution in Consciousness and reflecting back within (introversion) can be a way of Evolution in Consciousness as improvement is possible only when we reflect back.

But the biggest challenge is our own mind which wants to project everything wrong on others so that it can give us this feeling that there is nothing wrong with me, all the problems are with other people in my life. So, the biggest challenge in reflecting back and evolving through it is our own mind. Mind finds it easy to blame others.

This prelude was necessary for what I am going to write now –

Similarly, we can apply the rules of Introversion and Extroversion in Astrology where every house/sign/planet/nakshatras represents certain things, activities or people in life. Now, if we project those traits of others then we are going to misuse our and energy of house/sign/planet/nakshatras but if we reflect back over those traits within ourselves then we can utilize the time and energy in a better way.

Now, if we look at this according to different signs we have to get some idea –

Aries – It is the sign of Individuality, Actions, Uniqueness and at the same time, it is also the sign of Dominance, Control and Aggression.

Now, if we see closely, Individuality/Uniqueness/Actions depend on yourself and you need not to have another person for same. But for Dominance, Control and Aggression, you need another person where you can project it.

So, if we are using the energy of Aries sign or in matters related with house, wherever it falls in our chart, in realizing our uniqueness or individuality then we are using energy in an introvert way and we can be evolving through those actions. But if we are using the energy of Aries sign or in matters related with house, wherever it falls in our chart, in dominating/controlling others in an aggressive manner then we are using energy in an extrovert way and we can be devolving through those actions.

Likewise,

Taurus – Being an Earth Sign, it is the sign of Stability and Balance. At the same time, Taurus can also become sign of Greed and Indulgence.

So, if we are using the energy of Taurus sign or in matters related with house, wherever it falls in our chart, in bringing stability and balance in our life and in lives of people around us then we are using energy in an introvert way and we can be evolving through those actions. But if we are using the energy of Taurus sign or in matters related with house, wherever it falls in our chart, in being greedy or indulgent then we are using energy in an extrovert way and we can be devolving through those actions.

Gemini – It is sign of Business, Communications and Skills. At the same time, it can be sign of Blabbering and Unconscious Commercialization.

So, if we are using the energy of Gemini sign or in matters related with house, wherever it falls in our chart, in serving people through your business, communication, counselling or skills then we are using energy in an introvert way and we can be evolving through those actions. But if we are using the energy of Gemini sign or in matters related with house, wherever it falls in our chart, for making more and more profits unconsciously and spreading false information then we are using energy in an extrovert way and we can be devolving through those actions.

Cancer - It is sign of Emotions, Nourishment and Peace of Mind. At the same time, it can be sign of Insecurities, Fears and Clinging Approach.

So, if we are using the energy of Cancer sign or in matters related with house, wherever it falls in our chart, in bringing emotional peace, nourishment and care to Self then we are using energy in an introvert way and we can be evolving through those actions. But if we are using the energy of Cancer sign or in matters related with house, wherever it falls in our chart, in clinging to others and projecting our insecurities on them then we are using energy in an extrovert way and we can be devolving through those actions.

Leo - It is sign of Kings, Queens and Celebrities. At the same time, it can be sign of being Authoritative or Bossy.

So, if we are using the energy of Leo sign or in matters related with house, wherever it falls in our chart, in feeling secured about our own authority and recognition and empowering others then we are using energy in an introvert way and we can be evolving through those actions. But if we are using the energy of Leo sign or in matters related with house, wherever it falls in our chart, in being authoritative or bossy towards others then we are using energy in an extrovert way and we can be devolving through those actions.

Virgo - It is sign of Perfection. At the same time, it can be sign of seeking perfection too.

So, if we are using the energy of Virgo sign or in matters related with house, wherever it falls in our chart, in seeking perfection from Self then we are using energy in an introvert way and we can be evolving through those actions. But if we are using the energy of Virgo sign or in matters related with house, wherever it falls in our chart, in seeking or expecting perfection from others then we are using energy in an extrovert way and we can be devolving through those actions.

Libra - It is sign of Balance and Relationship. At the same time, it can be sign of relying on others in relationship too.

So, if we are using the energy of Libra sign or in matters related with house, wherever it falls in our chart, in seeking balance in relationship with Self then we are using energy in an introvert way and we can be evolving through those actions. But if we are using the energy of Libra sign or in matters related with house, wherever it falls in our chart, in relying on others to bring us happiness then we are using energy in an extrovert way and we can be devolving through those actions.

Scorpio - It is sign of occult, mysticism and determination. At the same time, it can be sign of insecurities, fear, major changes and instability.

So, if we are using the energy of Scorpio sign or in matters related with house, wherever it falls in our chart, in dealing with major changes of life with determination then we are using energy in an introvert way and we can be evolving through those actions. But if we are using the energy of Scorpio sign or in matters related with house, wherever it falls in our chart, in blaming others for our insecurities and fears or major changes of life then we are using energy in an extrovert way and we can be devolving through those actions.

Sagittarius - It is sign of knowledge, education and counseling. At the same time, it can be sign of fundamentalism in belief system too.

So, if we are using the energy of Sagittarius sign or in matters related with house, wherever it falls in our chart, in gaining and sharing knowledge then we are using energy in an introvert way and we can be evolving through those actions. But if we are using the energy of Sagittarius sign or in matters related with house, wherever it falls in our chart, in being rigid or fundamentalist about our belief system/religion then we are using energy in an extrovert way and we can be devolving through those actions

Capricorn – Capricorn works like Leo. It is sign of Authority and Empowerment. At the same time, it can be sign of being Authoritative or Bossy.

So, if we are using the energy of Capricorn sign or in matters related with house, wherever it falls in our chart, in feeling secured about our own authority and recognition and empowering others then we are using energy in an introvert way and we can be evolving through those actions. But if we are using the energy of Capricorn sign or in matters related with house, wherever it falls in our chart, in being authoritative or bossy towards others then we are using energy in an extrovert way and we can be devolving through those actions.

Aquarius - It is sign of serving humanity. At the same time, it can be sign of gains and rewards too.

So, if we are using the energy of Aquarius sign or in matters related with house, wherever it falls in our chart, in unselfishly serving humanity then we are using energy in an introvert way and we can be evolving through those actions. But if we are using the energy of Aquarius sign or in matters related with house, wherever it falls in our chart, in expecting something in return through serving others then we are using energy in an extrovert way and we can be devolving through those actions.

Pisces - It is sign of spirituality and creativity. At the same time, it can be sign of imagination and dream world.

So, if we are using the energy of Pisces sign or in matters related with house, wherever it falls in our chart, for our spiritual evolution and creative endeavors  then we are using energy in an introvert way and we can be evolving through those actions. But if we are using the energy of Pisces sign or in matters related with house, wherever it falls in our chart, in having dreamy or imaginative expectations from others then we are using energy in an extrovert way and we can be devolving through those actions

We can apply the same rules for different planets. Like, the rules of Aries and Scorpio would fit for their Lord Mars etc. 

So, we can see that whenever we are trying to use the energy within and work on Self internally, it is better use of that energy which can help in evolution. And whenever we are projecting on others and going outward, it is not helpful for us.

Now, the biggest challenge is that all our Sense Organs are directed outward and will naturally move outward. As our Sense Organs are directed outward and will naturally move outward, we naturally gravitate towards others, their behavior or their actions. To move them inwards or internally, you need a force which can divert the attention of these Sense Organs in opposite direction and that force can be our consciousness only. So, we need to work on being more and more conscious of our actions or traits.

Finally, the biggest logic an extrovert person brings to fore in this matter that if other person is behaving in certain ways then how can I ignore it and move my attention inwards?

Well, understand it like this.

I think that everyone will agree on this point that we all are here to learn from our life experiences and evolve through them. So suppose, in this life, I am supposed to become a more calm or peaceful person. So, what is most important for this to happen?

The most important thing to happen for me is that I should be surrounded by people who provoke me or irritate me. My reaction to their behavior is the only test whether I am becoming Calm/Peaceful or not. If I am becoming angry at them then it means that I still need to work on becoming Calm/Peaceful and if I am working internally on my anger then I am evolving in my life.

So, in a way, those by people who provoke me or irritate me are helping me to assess myself and to evolve myself. Rather than angry, I should be thankful towards them.
